UIM Job
Well Im half way through my UIM replacement. I quit for the night after a couple of hours, and Im planning to finish tomorrow. when I removed the upper bolts they were reletively loose (nowhere near 89 in. lbs.) also every bolt had some kind of white thread sealant WTF? we arent supposed to use thread sealant on the upper bolts are we? Also does anybody here torque the throttle body nuts to the 125 in. lbs. specd. in the book? Just wondering as this seemed high. Thanks in advance

A sealant (PTFE type) is not needed on UIM bolts, as they do not enter any water jackets.
I would recommend using a threadlocker, though.

Thanks guys I know that it is only inch pounds i just wondered why they would be more than the manifold bolts. I'll just use the blue medium strength thread lock when i reinstall them.
