Perform shift behavior
I've been thinking about Perform vs Normal shift equipped on SC cars. From what I hear, simply plugging in the switch to an NA car will give you the option, but Perform shift is normal behavior and Normal lowers the shift points.
I'm not convinced it is the same in a SC car. When I have my chip out that alters the behavior, it still seems to hold onto a gear longer before upshift and downshift with less throttle than my brother'* 92 SE, parents 92 Olds 88 and my wife'* 93 SE (now parts car). Now, I'm not talking about WOT or redline here. Redline is redline. I talking about part throttle and throttle lift off. It just doesn't behave the same as normal shift patterns in NA cars. I just feel there is something stock in the SC eprom that doesn't behave the same as NA cars with the switch enabled.

ok here is the deal Perfromance shift should be called normal, as the car shifts at the yellow on the tach, normal shift should be called enonomy as it shifts well below the yellow on the tach, and yes cars that are NA, are in a sense in Perfromance shift all the time
Will has done this is his SSEi and his Neighbors SSE

It sounds to me like you think the buttons only come with supercharged cars, but they were optional on NA as well.
I got me a set of buttons out of a newer SSE and plugged em in to my car, but i can't say that i can tell much difference one way or the other. I have only really played with it on 3-4 upshifts, and at MOST, there is only a 1-2 MPH difference, if any, in shift points under low-mid throttle. I can't tell any difference by watching the analog tach. AT WOT, my car will still shift at red line at in either mode.

Posts like a Ricer Type-R
Our limited knowledge of the function of this option is limited to a swap of my switch pod into a 93 SSE without it. My car shifted the same as performance mode without the switch, and the SSE shifted NORMALLY with the switch on, and retarded with the function on.
So it'* possible that the Eprom function differs.
