Default How to remove wire boot shields?

Apparently my car came with heat shields for the wire boots along the rear manifold. I went to install some NGK TR6 plugs today and decided to start with the hard part first (the rear plugs) and was frustrated with no knowledge of how to remove these. Anyone? I'm not sure if they twist off, pull off, or break off. :?

Take a look:

They pull off.
You have to use a lot of force but it helps to use something to pry them off from the bottom....to break the seal.
They use a spring on the inside to hold them tight.

Wear your gloves and be careful.

Yes there is a spring in there.
And good advise to wear gloves, I scratched my hand smashing the firewall when it finally let go
Helps to give it a twist while pulling.

They have springs originally. Someone may have tossed y'all'* on a previous change.

And, along with gloves, have plenty of cuss words handy. You'll need 'em.....
