The evaporator sees the same pressure as the low side while the system is running. It'* on the low side of the orifice opening. I believe that'* about 40 or so when the pump was cut back in on my 93.

The condensor infront of the motor is on the high side of the compressor. That runs up to 250 and higher if I recall.

When the system is off the freon equalizes throughout the system and I believe I measured over 100 when I connected a gauge.

Pressure in the evaporator is contingent on ambient temperature, and relative humidity. It can range from 30-50 psi IIRC. The R12 refrigerant is really cold as it enters the evaporator. I forget the exact boiling point of R12, it might be 30 degrees or so below zero I think. Don't quote me on that.
