Oil Switch
Is it common for these engines for the oil switch to go bad? my mechanic says mine is worn and need repairs. 2nd time this happened to me and I need an oil pan.

I know Tamara had to replace hers awhile back, and Amy_Lynn might have a bad one, but other than that, I think they're pretty much lifetime reliable parts. What symptoms are you seeing?

Your oil PRESSURE gauge? If it'* out, keep an eye on the dipstick. What does your oil pressure gauge read when the engine is warmed up? We'll go from there, and find out if this mechanic is jerking you around. What EXACTLY are your symptoms, or is this something that happened in the past and you're just looking for info?

If some moron told me to drive it anyway I would park it in my driveway, put a brick on the gas pedal & wait for the "Earth Shatering Ka-Boom" when the engine craters! Then phone the guy to tell him they owe you a new engine!
