I did 3" because our engines can rev to 7k stock and we make our power at about 5200rpm for the horsepower and 4000 rpm for our torque.
My '92 SE has an indicated redline of 5500rpm, but unless manually shifted it only takes it up to 5k with every shift. Regardless, past 4k it is starting to choke anyway. Now I have driven newer 3800s (the Series II) and they redline at 6k, and weren't much more revvier than my own car. I'm sure an exhaust might help it pull a little harder, but the heads/cam would still be a bottleneck. Any thoughts on this?
