Default Weird rattle, any ideas?

Im getting this weird rattle coming from some where up front, but it only does it at 2500 rpms, but it doesnt do it when i drive a little harder than normal? i cant really pin point where the rattle is coming from because it only does it when im driving. Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this?

Loose heat shield on the catalytic convertor?

Loose pieces inside the catalytic converter. Mine is doing this now. Most evident from a stop to about 15 mph. Get under the car and thump on the cat converter, see if it sounds like something is loose.

Either that or loose heat shields on the exhaust manifolds perhaps. Don't ask me how to fix those, I haven't figured that out yet on mine.

what do u mean "loose heat sheild on the cat"? the metal thats attached to the floor or is that the metal around the cat that has the holes at the bottom? i knocked on the peice thats attached to the floor it seemed like pretty secure. (i thought maybe that could be the prob). im gonna try bangin on the cat itself see if thats it

Ya, I was going to say that too. I had the rattling a while back. Happened a little at idle and more when I was driving at low rpms. I never fixed the problem, but it went away in a couple weeks. I didn't know how it went away when I didn't do anything to fix it. But I was glad it was gone. It was so annoying.

The metal around the cat. It'* like an outer layer, with an air gap behind it, so the blazing-hot skin of the convertor itself can't come into contact with stuff like dry grass or newspaper litter that could catch fire. Sometimes when they fall off you'll see them lying in the middle of the traffic lane, squashed flat.

Yup, check it out.

i'd say go for it. just make sure you don't get caught cause some states have heavy penalties. and you probably won't loose any torque b/c your supercharged.

Ya, be careful and don't tell anyone about getting rid if it. The penalty here is $10,000.
