Is that strip caulk that you talked about in the other thread a substitute for the 3M glue?

I think strip calk is not a substitute for weatherstrip glue as it will not hold nearly as well. But, I have used it successfully by removing stress on the pieces to be joined (in the case of the door seals, by spreading the bottom gap) or where pieces are firmly fixed with fasteners. It does seal and hold well under those conditions.

The shrinkage of the door seal causes the original adhesive to pull free anyway, I guess.

after talking with Randy before I did mine, I chose the 3M over strip caulk.
