Driving Lamp Lenses
Does anyone have experience replacing the Lens'* (sp?) on the driving lamps? Possibly with glass instead of the plastic that was supplied from the factory on my 97 SSE?
What part numbers should I order from GMDirect? (For the lens only hopefully, and glass!)
Thanks for the help.

Welcome to the club.
I don't know of any replacement parts for the lenses only. You can replace the whole light assemly for around $60 with a lot better aftermarket light setup like the Blazer 3200'*. I replaced mine with aftermarket, It was well worth the money. Do you have a cracked lense or something?
Where in the northern twin cities are you at? It'* good to see this area grow in numbers.

I agree with SSEi95, it'd be better to replace it with aftermarket lights. Do these gens come with Xenons? If not, they'd be better.
Though, you could look on Ebay; you get lucky sometimes.

One'* cracked, the other looks like it'* sandblasted to a nice matte finish. The crack is the bigger deal, as it'* been allow water to hit the bulb. (that only works for about 3 milliseconds!)
How tough to get the blazers to fit in the stock location? Does it still look stock? Is $60 the estimated price for the pair or each? And lastly, since you appear to be only a stones throw away, if you picked them up locally, where?
Thanks for the help!
BTW: Why did my post double post the first time? Did I do something wrong?

The double-post was because you either refreshed, stopped to change something, or accidently pressed the submit button twice.
You could probably get what you need from a GM/Pontiac dealer... like hte Pontiac\GMC dealer somewhere in the Twin Cities... I forget the name...

You can check out my Blazer 3200'* here (first pic on page 5):

The lights actually have a whiter/bluer light to them. They also have a great look to them when they are off. They are just a little smaller than stock so they fit easily into the stock openings. There is a little modding required to get them to mount but nothing to dificult. I can post links to similar installs and get more pics if you like.
The lights go for $59.99 a pair and I have seen them at local parts stores. You can also check with http://www.domesticperformance.com/ and http://angryducktofuracing.com/bonnystore/ to see what they can do.

Another Twin City-er...I actually work over in Vadnais Heights. I'm familiar with several of the Dealerships you mention, and even live within a couple miles of Thomas Pontiac.
BUT, 1) don't want to pay full price from a dealership 2) don't want another set of plastic lens'*.
Hence, Why I asked for part numbers so I could use GMdirect. I though I had seen similar requests for other parts so though I would give it a try.

GM PART # 16514760 *
CATEGORY: Headlamp Housing/Capsule
PACK QTY: 1 CORE CHARGE: $0.00
GM LIST: $67.75
OUR PRICE: $40.65
DESCRIPTION: LAMP
Don't be foolded by the 'headlamp' description. This is a driving light. ONE driving light. Not a pair. They're identical Left or right. I too, have forsaken the GM light god. I'm running Navigator Cyber-white'*. So is Jseabert. Great bluish white tint, and 55 Watts. I paid less than $50 for the pair when my stock lights gave up the ghost. Vast improvement. Either these or the Blazers. The other advantage to a slightly smaller diameter is that it allows more airflow to the lower part of the radiator. Every little bit is critical with these cars.
