Okay, got the LIM in and torqued to specs. Now I want to clean my injectors and egr valve, can I just spray carb cleaner on them?

(edit) Upon further review I notice the chilton'* manual only provides me with the torque specs for what I believe is the upper. What are the lower manifold torque specs?

Torque specs for the lower intake are really worrying me. I've seen several saying diferent things but no definite. I currently have them set at 11ft but not sure if that'* just the upper.

if memory serves, it'* 89 inch pounds for the upper, can't remember the lower.

<goes to check>

11 ft-lbs on the lowers.

89 in-lb on the uppers.

Thanks for the verification, and I apologize for not carefully reading the manual. It doesn't state it very clearly though for someone new to dyi.

Ok, got everything back on and double checked. Start the engine and it gives me a check engine and is idling at 2k rpms. I let it run until the t-stat springs a good leak. Smart guy says you forgot to tighten the bolts down , even smarter guy says you don't need the stupid torque wrench you bought for this job :P ...T-stat housing cracks under pressure from over torqued bolt. Broke guy now has to buy new housing.

Broke guy maybe didn't have BOTH gaskets for the t stat procedure. 1 rubber ring that sits on t stat and 1 paper to keep the stat housing from leaking.

Yes broke guy has both gaskets but forgot to think before using full strength. As luck would have it no one has one, but the dealer who says I can get it tomorrow for 18 bucks.

I also forgot to mention that I found some corrosion on the plug to the sensor on top of the tb (not the maf but the other one). I cleaned it up but is it the reason for the high idle? Should I replace it? And if so should replace the wire connector(pigtail?)

If you also have a big sucking sound to go with the 2 grand idle, check to make sure the brake booster vacum line is firmly attached to intake. Yes, this happened to me.

I did have a big sucking sound, thought it was the gutted airbox :? I'll definitely check tomorrow when I get the new t-stat housing. Do you guys think I can reuse the paper gasket?
