All sorts of problems for ryry :(
Ryan, the VSS is the vehicle speed sensor. It'* the sensor that tells the PCM how fast you're going (sensor is in the trans). Without it, neither the HUD nor the analog speedo will work, nor the cruise. Not sure how it'll affect shifts.......need to check my FSM on that.

Compass fix is in techinfo. You need to relocate your sensor.

if neither of those are working I'm assuming that your odometer/trip aren't working either? It doesn't sound like a bad PCM to me either, it sounds more like a bad VSS like said earlier.

Are the VSS and the Speedometer sensors two different things? ..because i replaced my speedometer sensor a while back and it did nothing.. it'* the one located by my transmission.... Who all votes for performance PCM?

EDIT: BTW, what causes PCM'* to go bad? wear n tear ?

Sounds to me like you got the VSS alreadly. The PCM and wiring in between are the last suspects.

Anyone got a FSM for the 96 VSS/PCM wiring? My 93 schemtatics won't do.

ok, i was just looking on intense-racing.com and why do they NOT sell the PCM'* for the 96???? It starts at 97! Is that due to the transmission change in 97? ..so my PCM is quite rare then? Ahh.. so i have to spend an arm and a leg on an OEM.. damn!!
