water pump issues
I'm trying to remove the waterpump on my 97, and there is a pully getting in my way. On hte belt travel diagram posted by Danthurs, its the pulley below and to the left of the tensioner, and slightly down and to the left of the water pump. one bolt is left on the waterpump and it wont come out. any ideas?
thanks!
thanks!

Is that the bolt on the motor mount? You will need to support the engine and remove that mount to get to the water pump. I believe you may also need to move the coils a bit.

no its a bolt for the actual water pump.
if you look at this pic, https://static.am-autoparts.com/item/601392d01a.jpg , the bolt i'm trying to remove is the very right one, on the outlet portion there.
but its being blocked by a pulley on the engine, down and to the left of the tensioner, down and to the left of the waterpump pulley, and up and to the left of the crankshaft pulley...if that makes sense.
the bolt needs to come out a long way, but its only got about 1/2 inch of clearance. I noticed in your write up that you had taken off a piece behind the waterpump, is that necessary to take the actual waterpump off?
Thanks

From the looks of it that'* your power steering pulley. I seem to remember the hole in the pulley lines up with the bolt and it should come out threw that hole.

well after alot of frustration, i got the water pump out....turns out you have to take out the two bolts holding the power steering pulley on, move that out of the way, then get at the last bolt on the water pump.
GM sure knows how to make it an easy process....rrrright haha. The waterpump gasket looks okay, a bit rough turning tho (comparing to the new one). I really hope this is the problem and its not the UIM/LIM.
thanks for your help

OK, I just came back in from my shop and I was looking at that bolt. It'* teh other bolt that goes threw the pulley. Sounds like you got it though.
What are you trying to determine here? Lost coolant? Sorry if we've been threw this, hard to keep everything straight sometimes. Things you can check is the elbows. Those are right above the water pump. They can leak.
