Default Trunk Torque Rods Broken!!!!

Hey guys I am actually doing this for my dad. HE has had both torque rods that open his trunk break on him. I was wondering if anyone had any input on how to replace them and whether or not it required taking the trunk off, etc. Thanks.

i agree there isnt anything to reinstall unless the bars...the hardest part will be adjusting the bars....

That is just bad Torque rods shouldn't break...ever.
It must be a manufacturing defect.
Bad QC.
Bad GM.

i agree the FSM only gives instructions on how to adjust....not even a mention on how to install...

You may need to replace the hinge assemby. It'* pretty straight forward, but the rear deck (speaker area) needs to be pulled to get at two bolts on each side.
