Default ughh great

So today i tried doing the obd1 retrieval using a paper clip. From the diagram my connector looked a bit different. Tried what i though it was, didn't work. Started poking around and my doors locked and unlocked when i touched 2. Finally gave up and then tried again to find that my radio is no longer working and im not seeing any lights on the dash working besides the gages. Electrical problems or whatever i caused are defiantly not my specialty. Did i blow a fuse or short out the ecm, would the car still run if i did that? The car does run by the way. All interior lights work air condition too. What did i do and is it an east fix? PLEASE HELP

You cannot do the paperclip trick on anything newer then a 93'

you probably blew a fuse somewhere, check your panel and i'm sure there will be a blown one in there.

I thought the guide said 95 and older, But i guess that could explain it. Any suggestion what fuse to check?

Chris is absolutely correct. The 94 and 96 Bonnevilles have an OBD1.5 system which is basically an OBD1 system with an OBD2 plug and OBD2 codes. You need a special scanner to read your diagnostic codes. The paper clip trick only works on OBD1 systems, which are on 93 and older Bonnevilles.

Maybe this is too obvious, but if your radio isn't working you probably blew the radio fuse. Other than that, you may want to pull and check each of your fuses.

i will check tomorrow. Just wondering but would there be a fuse be for the dashboard warning lights? I don't have a ding anymore when i leave my keys in too.

Let'* hope that all you have that'* gone sideways are a few fuses. Check them all and replace as necessary. If you've checked and replaced and still have a problem, it might be something a little bit more serious than a fuse or three.

Kevin, I looked at the fuse diagrams for his car and don't see a fuse for the dash lights in either the left or the right fuse panel. Does the 94 have a fuse/relay box in the engine compartment, or under the rear seat? Does anyone have an FSM for a 94?

I'm thinking the DIM (Dash Integration Module) may have taken a walk on the dark side. I'll do some digging and see if I can find any info laying around here. There are some relays and fuses under the hood....but, I don't have any schematics that can point to anyone particular one.
