Transmission issues
I am not sure if this is the right spot to place this but i am having tranny issues. I have a Supercharged 95 SSEi. It runs and drives great. It shifts and the fluid isnt burnt or smelly. But... my tranny makes a clunk in park and neutral only. I was told maybe the flexplate and that wasnt it. Maybe the planetary set. idk. I have been driving it as is. It still goes like crazy. Everyone i have talked to is stumped and told me to drive it untill it does crap out. Its got 230,000 miles on it on what i believe to be the original motor and tranny. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I would have a buddy help you. Hold the foot break and shift through the gears standing. See if the engine rocks back and forth you might have a bad motor mount. Also do a tranny fluid change see if it have alot of metal in the pan. But it is weird the trans would make a sound in neutral and park. Might be the input that engages and disengages the gear set.

Is this a random knocking noise? Only in park/neutral, right?
It'* in the final drive area of the trans. I can't for the life of me remember if it'* the actual final drive or something leading up to it. IIRC, it causes enough damage to the case to render the trans "unrebuildable". I say drive it till it'* done and swap in another.
