Default 92 bonnie lopes at idle

ok here is the deal my car was doing fine till i washed the engine off today when ,after i got it home, i decided to check and make sure i got the thing clean cause my car is the one being looked at this week. as its idling i notice a slight lope and you can hear an even slighter whoomp noise from the exhaust. are there any problems common to the 93 bonnies that could cause this or will i just have to find out by proccess of elimination

What did you use to wash the engine? You may have gotten the coils wet. A lope to the idle can be cause by a vacuum leak, it'* also possible you knocked a vacuum line loose.

I would start with looking for a vacuum leak. Spray some carb cleaner around the vacuum lines with the engine running. If the RPM changes then you found a vacuum leak.

If it'* all better now, then it sounds like something got wet. If you would like to try a experiment, take a spray bottle with water and mist the coils, and plug wires with the engine running. Turn off the lights and watch for blue flashing. That would be a short.
