A/C Temperature
Hello all, been lurkin for the past two weeks since aquiring my 97 Bonny SE. I've got 98K miles on the car and noticed that the AC was not very cold (its near 100 here this week!! So I put a gauge on it, and it showed between 35 and 45 PSI on the low pressure side with AC on full (max). I put a temp. probe in the dash vent, and it registered 56 degrees. So i put a can of R134A in, and the temp at the dash now reads 45 degrees. Still just does not feel cold in the car though. Is this what the temp. should be at the dash? With the car on, but AC off, the pressure is only 70psi, shouldn't it be closer to 100? I only ask because the pressure has not changed even after adding a whole can of refridgerant.
Is there a purge valve that lets air out of the system, maybe thats why the pressure didn't change? I just want cold AC, my Sable had ice cold AC, and the bonny just isn't measuring up so far :o(
Thanks for the help!!
