markviiisvt4, the one I bought my SSEi off of, got me a tranny modulator new. The new one is significantly smaller than the original.. Is that right?

It might be. Post pics of the two side by side...maybe check the part number for the new one.

100% normal...aftermarket trans modulators are MUCH smaller. often they are ajustable as well to provide better or wose shifts than stock
