ok, this leaking crap is going to stop! I am ready to put an end to it once and for all....now, how do i go about removing seats, and side stripping so that i can pull up all my carpet, and carpet padding in order to dry everything out?? and are there drain plugs so that if i have puddling i can allow it to drain??

Looking under the seats. There are plastic covers held on at the floor by a phillips screw. Remove those. Fronts will be 15mm nuts, rears are 13mm nuts, Seat belt bolt is a T47 torx bit.

You can leave the plastic on the sides, or gently tug to get it to unclip.

Do you have a console in your car?

Not many older ones came with cloth AL7'*..but odd stuff exists.

The console will also need to come out. 4 10mm bolts under the lift up front area (pull shifter clip and ashtray 2 7mm'*) then 2 10mm bolts inside the console compartment under the false bottom of the compartment.

you will also have to remove the shifter. 4 or 6 bolts (can't remember) and 2 cables. One cable pops off and the other slides off backwards. Put foot an brake to release tension (that'* for the little cable)

There should be a couple drain plugs under the carpeting.

While you are under there, don't forget to dry out and check the ground buss for corrosion. Clean it up and apply dielectric grease before re-connecting.

yeah i have the power front buckets, and a center console... what about removing the back seats? is that possible, and worth my time... i will not cause any problems by driving without the carpet/padding ( i am pretty sure the answer is no, but just want to be sure)

thanks all

you just have to remove the bottom portion. Push the front of the back seat towards the trunk and lift.
