why can't i rev my 95 more then 4000 rpm'* in park.?
o.k when i first got the car i was checking it out and i loved the way the enging sounded when i reved it compared to my 88. so i then noticed that while i rev the 95 bonnie in park that i can not get it to rev more then 4000 rpm'*...
is there like a rev eliminator? because yesterday i was able to rev it past 4000 rpm'* i got it upto 5500 rpm'* and now i cant go past 4000 rpm'* again..
can someone exp;lain whats going on..

Revving your engine in Park or Neutral is the worst thing you can do to that engine other than running without oil.
Don't do it. The limiter is there as an idiot-proofer.

While I don't share the same ideas about it being horrible, there'* no reason to do it often and GM was finding that many of these motors, and the 3.1 and 3.4 were fast enough revving people would mess around and blow them.
There is no reason with intelligence to go over 4K in park or neutral that I can think of.

Exactly..it'* a learning experience.
The Honda owners around here..rev their cars all the time..and they smoke like someone is trying to kill off the bug population.
Squirrelly learned all about cars when he rebuilt his motor 2 (or was it 3) times.
