96 Bonne SE 221,000km

I was going to post a question similar to this. (may repost a fresh version if I don't hear anything)
Before I even begin to drive, while my car is still in park I will hear a grinding/wirring noise in bursts. Sometimes a couple bursts of this sound. sometimes several. Often my traction and ABS dash warning lights will come on. It sounds as though it is coming from the drivers side of the vehicle somewhere under the hood.

If the Traction/ABS light doesn't come on then It will come on after I start to drive in low gear. My ABS will activate for no apparent reason (wirring noise) and then if I take my foot off the accelerator it will stop and usually the wartning lights will come on (indicating ABS has shut itself off.

The ABS light will usually come on at the same time as well. I have also found that my ABS will engage when I am braking, even at low speed on dry road, if it isn't already on, my ABS warning light will then activate (indicating ABS has shut itself off)

I have started shutting off my TC as soon as I start my Bonny just to avoid the agravation. And eventually my ABS will activate for no aparent reason and turn off so that I don't have to worry about its usefulness for the rest of my drive.

Any ideas on what this is? Cost to fix. My mechanic is 90 an hour.

Thanks
