Default road trip

I'm driving my 92 sse 180,000 miles from atlanta to new jersey this weekend.
besides oil change and tires is there anything else I should look out for before I hit the road? The car run great already with 180 drilled thermostat and k& n air filter.
one question I have is how could I tell if my water pumps on it'* last leg? any symptoms I should know about?

Are you leaking coolant? My WP started "weeping" coolant when it started to go.

Right, leaking coolant is one idicator. The other one would be the bearing inside the WP. If it'* making a racket, it'* time to change the WP.
BTW....I'll be leaving NJ this weekend for Rhode Island. So there should be room for you when you arrive.

just make sure all your fluids are topped off and current and that you are well tuned up for optimum performance and gas mileage. when was the last time plugs and wires were done? if its running fantastic though and not giving you any problems then dont worry about it, just carry spare fluids with you and possibly a set of tools for the "what ifs" that could come up on the road and have a good trip

If you haven't left yet, and not knowing exactly where you'll be in this fair state, I would suggest one of our Diners.
You can look 'em up

Also, if you haven't checked your spare tire, now would be a good time to so. The space savers hold 60 psi.
Oh, and don't forget to bring the Pepto Bismol

WOW!

I never knew that it was 180,000 miles from Atlanta to New Jersey! And you're going to do it in one weekend? Impressive... :P

I always make sure that my alignment is good and the tires are well balanced also. A long trip with bad alignment or balancing can be extra tiring and can eat up a good set of tires.

yep. Spare fluids. Small "just in case" tool set. Cell phone and charger. You should be set
