I got some major suspension issues going on with my car, when going around curves on the freeway that have bumps the car feels so unstable it seems like the backend wants to come around on me. (and on one occasion it almost has) The car already has over 100,000 miles and with driving on Michigan roads that probably eqauls double the wear/tear of driving on any other roads. I would love to go with the Monroe refelx stuts all around but for my budget I'm just looking to do OEM equivilant replacement of all the worn suspension parts. So that means all 4 struts, the control arm bushings look pretty worn out and seem to be starting to crack I replaced the front endlinks already but noticed the frame bushings for the stabilizer bar looks pretty bad too. I'm begining to wonder about the condition of the ball joints and the tierod ends as well since I'm going to be basically tearing it all apart it might be a good idea to do those as well.

My questions are can the control arm bushings just be replaced or does the whole control arm need to be swapped? How hard is it to do the ball joints? Tierod ends? What about upper strut mounts and bearings? I may have access to a shop to do all the work myself with the help of a friend. I replaced the rear struts with Sensatrakcs over a year and a half ago but I think the gas portion is toast (air portion seems to work backend of car is normal height). How reliable is the standard OEM equiv replacement? I was happy with the handling of the car when I bought it and I would be overjoyed if I could restore the like new factory ride.

Basically seems to be a full suspension rebuild, does it seems overkill? I plan on keeping the car for another 100,000 miles so it should be worth it in the long run.

Your bushings are *supposed* to be pressed out.... I have a link around here somewhere with pictures for how to do it...

Your swaybar rubber is simple to replace, Tie rods are easy. Upper strut mounts and ball joints require a spring compressor and a whole lot of careful.

That'* actually done on an S10, but the bushings are the same style.

Ok, I should be able to have the bushings pressed out and new ones pressed in. If I can get access to a shop I should have all the tools I need at my disposal.
When I do this I'm going to do everything all at the same time for the front suspension and probably do the back on another day.
Has anyone here tried poly bushings? Does it make the ride a lot harsher?

I'm still trying to find poly bushings, If you wanna look a little... I have the measurements around here somewhere....

And yes, do it all as close together as you can, Makes it easier.
