Can anyone tell me if it'* possible to swap in a Series II when Series I was the stock motor? I'm getting ready to a MAJOR engine overhaul but before I do I don't want to waste the money on my Series I, there are just so many more parts out there for the Series II'*.

go to

http://profiles.yahoo.com/deathrat64

e- mail him and ask for his info regarding this swap. He had a list that he shared with me in the past that covered a swap. may still have it.

If you can't ab(use) it you can't afford it!

I would think you would need to swap trannys as well to handle the power. Plus a new motor would need a newer computer, you'd have to rewire everything.

Thanks speedyguy, I e-mailed him. I have a feeling it'* going to be fairly intensive but what the Heck, it'* only time and money
I wouldn't do the swap without changing out the transmission and that is another reason for me wanting to do the swap. I use to have a '66 Chevelle SS, '68 Mustang, '71 '75 'and '76 Monte Carlo so this not being able to modify things readily is causing me great anguish. I NEED TO TINKER!!!
I appreciate the help guys.

It can be done. I myself am looking into swapping out my series one L36 for a series II L67. There are millions of mods out there for the supercharged engine. If I remember correctly, the series II will swap out easily as far as engine mounts go. However, a new or modified computer is going to be needed.

Amy_Lynn has a car that was done before she bought it. She'* now running a 95 NA SSE with a Series II. I don't know if she knows the original owner, but we might be able to glean some info from her.....or any receipts that were left in the glove compartment!

That may be true for the Normally Aspirated (NA) but not the Supercharged (SC).

SC Series II weren't released until the 1996 Model. All 92-95 SSEi'*, SSE, and SE with the factory SC are Series I.
