Default Thrown rod

I just fixed everything on my bonneville yesterday... Car rode perfectly fine like new..... Today it decided to throw a rod... Im guessing thats wat happened because i heard a noise like something had fell then i saw a lot of smoke coming from under the hood. I opened the hood and the fans had stopped rotating and oil was leaking.. So i parked on the side of the street and saw a trail of oil behind the car.. I put more oil into the engine, cranked the car, and all the oil came completely out. Another engine??? Or can this be fixed?

When what should be inside the engine is outside, that'* never a good sign. However, try to find where the oil is coming from before you toss out the engine.

I'm right there with Dan. Find the leak before you condemn it. Then you'll be able to determine what happened.

It'* possible to have hit something and taken out the oil sensor or oil filter etc.

Indicators of major issues. How major is the question. These motors don't usually lose a rod through the block. Sure it'* possible, but even in built up 3800, it'* uncommon.
