SSE was supercharged for 92 and 93 only I believe SSEi was always supercharged. SSE often did not have all the options of a SSEi but could have been ordered with all the features.....SSE stopped in the late 90'* ssei stopped in 2003.

Both have the same body kit, center fog lights and body cladding.

as a general rule of thumb, but with exceptions, the SSEi was an SSE with supercharger for 92-99

Let me clarify

92/93 could have been supercharged if it was an SSE, but the supercharger was an option, along with the HUD and other such fancy options.

92-2003 were always supercharged if the model was an SSEi

SSE from the pre 92 were never supercharged but highly optioned out with 18 way lumbar seats etc....

I believe SSE stopped in 98. Where SLE sorta took over what SSE had, but SLE had been an option before, now it was a model designation, the SLEs NOW had the same body kit as the SSEis or SSEs also were badged on the door.

92-93 an SSE could be optioned up just like an SSEi, just with different emblems. 94-99 the difference was the supercharger.

Also, SSEi'* always had more standard equipment than an SSE.

you also get a SSE supercharged in 97 too....

think of an SSE everything that the SSEI has but the SC

the SSE'* were weird....you could get them loaded up like SSEI'* and you also could get them stripped down like SE'*.....i have seen some SSE'* that had Maual CC, NO HUD, CCR, 8 speaker sterio....basically the only thing that they had cluster and the body cladding

But as said, consider an SSE (usually) the same as an SSEI with out the SC

and Hans the SSE stopped in 99, in 00+ the SLE took the VIN that the SSE used

I'm the second owner of my 98SSE- the Original owner got just about every option on the car- except the */C engine and it does not have the different comfort rides on the left side of the shifter -just the traction control-but it does have the HUD,9 way power seats-driver and passenger- Auto-climate control, Heated driver and passenger side mirrors, etc,etc- I guess its just what you are willing to pay to have put in your NEW car-
I just wish it had been an SSEI- but all in all - the car is still pretty well loaded with most of the bells and whistles of an SSEI.

I'd have to agree with you on this-versus an SSE (n/a)

BUT IMHO,

I'd take a Bonneville GXP over an SSE or SSEI in a heartbeat!!!

Want that V-8 ENGINE!!!!!!
