Default Power Steering Pump

Long story short, I was driving home last night, heard a big clunk under my car, thought is was a chunk of snow, until my lights dimmed and I had no power steering. Luckily I was almost home. I popped the hood and noticed that my belt tensioner pulley was completely GONE!!! The only thing that was left was the race. It consequently killed the belt, but I also noticed there was a bit of power steering fluid splattered around. I thought maybe when the pulley flew off it may have hit the reservoir cap and some spilled out. However, I put a new pulley and belt on tonight and discovered that the pump reservoir was leaking. 2 ?'*

Has this ever happened to any body, &

More importantly

Is it a pain to put on a new pump, I looked around on here but none of the links work.
How do I do it? How do I bleed the system?

Any help would be great

Thanks in Advance

You change the pump from underneath. Not that bad of a job if the car is up a foot or so. Once it is installed, you fill the pump. Start car. Shut off car almost immediately. Fill pump. Then start car and very slowly turn wheel all the way to the left & then to the right. If the pump makes noise or you feel it jerk, shut off the car and fil the fluid. Make at least 5 full left and full right turns. Of course, do this will the wheels off the ground.

Yes, my pulley also departed the vehicle, but it did ot ruin anything. It had 120K on the car.

Thanks, everything went great with the change of the power streeing pump excpet one thing!!!!! I started the car and noticed I had no oil pressure. After some investigation, I found the the "Raging Pully" also took out my oil pressure switch. So the running total is

1 belt
1 idler pully
1 power steering pump
1 oil pressure switch

&

1 air mix actuator (because I unhooked the battery and low and behold when I hooked it back up it broke the main gear in the actuator, a common problem I have come to find out.
