Default FLASHING perform shift button?

last night when i was driving i noticed a flashing light...i look down, and i see my performance shift button flashing at an interval of like 3 times per second...

so im thinking damn, there goes that LED....

i push the normal button, and its fine...

i go back to the perform button, and its still doing it... PERFECT intervals... not like the bulb was going at all...

i tired switching back and worth a bunch of times, pounding on it and such...

did it the whole way home, 5 min...

forgot about it till tonight, the light works fine...

i do not have my custom chip in it....

can anyone explain this?

Time to pull out the manual. Sounds like you either have a short somewhere or the tranny is starting to complain visually.

The circuit is simple enough to turn on an led when one button or the other is selected and the button selected merely tells the PCM which mode is requested.
