Default Annoying vibrating noise! What is it???!!

I went to a do-it-yourself high pressure car wash and I sprayed off the undercarriage (it'* snowing like crazy here). Anyway, shortly after that wash I heard this damn subtle vibrating or buzzing sound, from under the car that occurred whenever I pressed the gas pedal. It only happened when I pressed the gas for some reason, and now it does it when I'm idling AND it'* getting louder. I think maybe something'* loose after I sprayed it :?: Could be something with the exhaust I think. Can anyone offer any help?? Thanks, I'd appreciate it.

Check for a possible loose exhaust sheathing. There is one that sits right above the muffler. If it falls down, it rattles on top of the muffler.

Also check the top shield of the catalytic converter. Those rivets come out on the cheap replacment ones. I had to run some new screws in mine.

My money is on the Cat shielding being loose. You may have dislodged the dirt from it'* place when you washed it away. :?

I noticed it was coming from the cat area under the car. I don't think it'* a big prob, it just sounds horrible! I guess something'* loose because I just held part of the exhaust (with a glove on ) when it was idling and the noise was much more quiet. I'll find out exactly when I get my oil changed next week. Thanks for the help.

Mine, too. Scared the hell out of me until I figured out what it was.

So it was just something loose in the cat? What did you do to fix it? What should I expect if I take it to a shop? Thanks

Look at my sig. You'll see what I did with the cat!

I'd get a friend (a trusted friend) to rev your throttle while you're under your car and try to pin it down. Do it in gear (carefully) and out of gear. If it'* the cat, you'll be able to tell with the car off. Just kick the sucker. If it rattles, replace it.
