Default Bumper Bust DOOOHHHHHHH

I came back from class the other day to find that on the driver side a large portion of my front bumper cover was "dented". More like bumped since its an outward dent rather then the usual inward.

Basically, from what I can see, the bumper lip in a 6 inch section under the turn signal on the driver side came out from under the fender and is now resting above it. I have no idea how this happened but I'm guessing someone bumped into my front causing the bumper to shift inward and they thought no harmed done when inspecting the cars probably because they didnt see the side damage.

Anyway, what I hope you guys can the "outward dent" be pushed back in even though the bumper is plastic or do I run the risk of cracking the bumper? If I can't do it easily without cracking do you think I could get a bodyshop to do it well or am I stuck getting a whole new front bumper cover? thanks guys

If the descriptions too vague i'm going go get some pics of the damage taken soon. I have some on film the day it happened but I'll get some digital ones to post. Oh and btw I talked to the police and they basically gave me the "we'll see what we can do" crap. I dont have collision insurance on the car so they wont help me out either.
