surging 1993 Bonneville
In overdrive placing load on motor like starting up slight hill on freeway the vehivle starts to surge and jerk. Pull transmission to drive and stops. I mechanic stated miss in motor. another mechanic stated torque converter. Vehicle 150,000 miles.
Any help appreciated.

With a volt ,ohm meter, Ignition off, test across the output poles of each coil. Should be around 5.8 ohms.
Had similar problem with my 93, it ran but crappy when I gave it any pedal at all. My coils all three tested 0 ohms.(not open, just 0).
Found one in a bone yard that tested something like 5.8, 5.8, & 5.78 or something like that. The coil pack comes off as an assembly (all three coils) cost me $24.00 and fixed!
