Advice on tracing window problem
The front passenger side window has been giving me problems lately. The passengers controls will not roll down the window, but if the driver controls roll the window down, then the passengers controls will roll the window up. So I am assuming it is not a bad window motor,
I took the switch out of one of the rear working windows and traded, still have the same problem.
I tried to tighten the connections that the switch slides into on the door, no luck there
I am guessing that it is a wire going bad.
Has anyone ran across this problem, what wires should i trace? Is there something else i should check? Or some other troubleshooting method I should try?
Thanks
Randy

Anyhow, if you can beg, borrow or steal a driver'* door control panel to swap in, see if the problem goes away when you do that. I think it'* possible that your driver'* door control switch isn't properly releasing that circuit. (You might try wiggling the driver'* door control very slightly while an assistant holds the passenger'* side switch in the Down position, and see if the window will go down at all.)

Would there be a way of testing via multimeter on those switches/wiring to make sure they are getting the signal sent?
This has been a gradual degredation in the window, it used to be you wiggle it a few times and then it goes down, now, only once in a blue moon will it work to go down.
If that adds any info
Thanks as always

If the window is _guaranteed_ to roll down whenever you use the driver'* side switch, but won't do so if you use the passenger'* side switch, then I'm guessing that the problem is somewhere in the wiring between the two switch panels, if not in the driver'* panel itself. You should be able to trace which colors of wire connect the passenger'* switch to the driver'* panel, and test for continuity from end to end after unplugging both switch panels from their wiring harness connectors.

Do the following checks with POWER OFF.
Pull the switch off the RH window, and check the wire that should be going to the "E" terminal against ground. That wire should be shorted to ground, with all switches idle and power off..
If it is not grounded with all the switches in neutral, then the problem is the DRIVER'* SWITCH, not the wiring nor the RH switch.
To display the symptoms you suggest, I would also expect that that wire does indeed ground when the driver'* switch is turned DOWN, but loses ground with the driver'* switch return to neutrall.... whereas it should stay grounded all the time (until the driver moves the switch to UP)
Wiring is unlikely. THe diiagram would suggest that for the driver to be able to initiate DOWN, and the RH switch to initiate UP, then all wires would have to be intact.
I am betting on the drivers switch. Let us know...
