Default intake help

i just replaced the upper intake manifold last year (november 2003 actually) on my bonne. it started an annoying sound, like a squeal... and i ripped the intake figuring that maybe the gasket went and a vacume leak had opened up. i took off the upper intake to find the lower intake manifold filled with oil... one of the lower intake manifold bolts worked its way loose... does anyone know what torque they should be set at? and how it could have worked its way loose?? its on the inside of the lower intake right at cylinder number 5..

thanks- Fred

hold up there for just one minute.

you need to replace the lower intake gaskets - they're prolly worse off than what your upper was. not replacing those is asking for failure...

Default lower

definitley change the lower gaskets. Apply loctite to the threads to prevent loosening.
Maybe the factory missed a bolt. You should see the blue residue on the threads when you remove them.

thanks guys, i did end up taking the lower intake off anyways... i found a friend who had access to what i needed (alldata) so that answered most of my questions, but then again at 11 at night not too many auto part stores are open... thats one of the disadvantages of working on cars at night.. so now everything is replaced, gasket wise... and she runs wonderful!!!

thanks- Fred
