I've been watching this Ebay item for a couple of days and am strongly considering buying it. It'* local enough and the price is right, for now. I'd like to get some of your thoughts on this as well as some ideas on the tranny problem decsribed.

Thanks

The exterior of the car looks really good in the pictures.. I'd just be leary of it because of how many miles it has on it. As for the transmission problem, it could be a bad shift solenoid.

You've got to have a scanner, see if you can take it to an autozone

For that price, the miles are not too high, I've got 176K and just did 27MPG on the trip.

Well, we just got back and I have to say that it wasn't a very pleasant inspection. I could even go so far to say that the car was a huge pile of cow dung. It ran fair and the tranny problems mentioned in the Ebay auction were not present at the time of the test drive but man, what a sight.

The front bumper was damaged and pushed rearward into the front left fender which caused the fender to buckle. The plastic panel underneath the front bumper was being held on with a elastic cord. The rear bumper was somehow staying on the vehicle but barely. Driver'* door panel was flopin' around...yack...yack...yack...

The check engine light went from solid to blink mode during the test drive and the climate control blinked a coded mesage that read "put me to sleep".

I was talking to the husband of the Ebay seller throughout the whole ordeal. He was very pleasant and more than eager to point out the "flaws" in the car. I told him that I will not be bidding in the auction but if he did not have a buyer at the end then I'll take it for $600. I figure I can pull the drivetrain and reserve it for my 90 and part out the rest. Hopefully earning enough dough to rebuild and repair the drivetrain.

In a way I hope it sells in the auction but hope the potential buyer gets an oppertunity to look at it first as I did.

On the bright side, we were able to stop at Coney Island Hot Dogs in Worcester for a delicious meal!! Oh well, I'll just have to keep looking for that just right vehicle.
