Some times it could be the mixture. more coolant than water can cause that. try draining some coolant out and adding more water. should do the trick. i experienced that with a 91 cavalier z24! give a try, if not, it should be a sensor.
GOOD LUCK!

Yes, mine'* faulty, too. I thought maybe the bad chemistry of my really old coolant was triggering it. Last fall I did a complete flush-and-fill (even added the Prestone flushing tee in the heater hose, and boy was _that_ a pain to install), got the mixture of the new stuff just right, but the sensor'* still complaining.

It'* plugged in on the passenger'* side of the radiator, about 1/3rd of the way down. Look straight down the back side of the radiator directly below the radiator cap. You'll find a two-wire electrical connector plugged into a square-ish plastic thingy. Unplug the connector and the warning will shut up. I forget how the sensor itself removes (it'* real easy -- it more-or-less just plugs into a hole), but of course the coolant comes gushing out when you do that, so don't pull the old sensor out until you have a replacement ready to go in.

Speaking of which, can anyone provide a part number and price?

Ya...if the car comes equipped with Dexcool it says very clearly on the reservior "Use Dexcool only"

Stick with the green coolant, I doubt it was meant to be mixed. Wasn't there a huge post about this beofre somewhere?

I have had to replace my sensor twice in the last 3 yrs. As soon as I put the new one in problem goes away, but they are not cheap from the dealer. I paid about $50-$60 part #25696947 for 96 SSEI. The wreckers is worth a try like Polarbear says.
Siphon some of the antifreeze out into a bucket before unplugging it.
