The PMV only does what the EBCM tells it. The EBCM relies on the wheel speed sensors. Check your wiring for corrosion.

I see that this post was from a long time ago, but I am having the exact same problem with a very low mileage (45k) 1998 Lesabre. Does anyone know the outcome or have any ideas on fixing this.
