Default Possible tranni problem

I just drove from New hampshire to Georgia for the thanksgiving holiday, (about a 1200 mile drive one way) and about halfway down, while coming to a stop, just before a complete stop, the car would shudder violently for a second or 2, the engine doesn't stall and its not in the brakes (doesn't seem like abs activating falsly) It only does this every once and a while and it doesn't matter if its warm or cold. Other then that the car runs great, i maintained 28-29 mpg all the way down at 70-75 mph with nice smooth shifts. I guess its more of an annoyance then a problem, has anyone else experienced this problem and if so what can be done about it. Trans fluid is clean and full and i plan on flushing it and doing a filter shorlt after i return. Thanks in advance for any help, i am not leaving georgia untill friday morning.
