Black Coolant
Should have checked with you guys sooner but just thought of this after looking at another thread. I know the whole coolant, LIM/UIM, has been discussed over and over, but when I got my 30,000 mile service done they flushed the coolant and said it was black. Mind you I am not losing any coolant at all and dont smell it. Checked exhaust and is not sweet or anything. Are my intake manifolds leaking already? I know the Dex turns brown a lot and all but never heard anything about it turning black??!! Help is appreciated.

What usually turns coolant black is when someone adds green phosphate coolant (hard to find nowadays) to Dex-cool. The two types don't play well together.
And....the time to replace your LIM gaskets and UIM is BEFORE you have any symptoms. Especially in a nice collector car like yours. This is more important in 1995-1998 models where the plastic EGR passage in the UIM is more likely to fail because of the larger stovepipe used. If you haven't already done so, please take the time to read this: http://www.bonnevilleclub.com/forum/...e=article&k=38 Just my $.02.
