Default 93 SE Gearing

To me it seems like first and second take WAY to long to get through using a 3.8 liter engine. I remember someone saying something about changing the gear ratios using a setting on the chip. Is this possible, and does anyone know the setting?

Um, no. If you change the final drive ratio, it has to be actual gearing in the tranny. You would then need a reburned chip so the speedo and odo are correct.

And the shiftpoints need to be reprogrammed at that point, too.

Try flooring it. I shift out of first at 42, then out of second at 79. Can't remember my 3,4 shift, I tend to be more concentrated on my surroundings by then... 3.06 ratio.

that seems kinda odd, i distinctly recall shfting out of 3rd right about 90, with it to the floor of course, and it wouldnt make sense to shift out of 2nd at 80 and shift out of 3rd at 90(thats one narrow gear ).....but i do know itll run 80 in 2nd, cause i accidentally put it in 2nd instead of drive one time and romped on it....this may require some field testing

do series 2'* perhaps have different shift points or something?

thats odd, but i dont think ill ever be able to test it, cause goin that fast in reverse would be scary! and i already backed into one pole goin like 10-15...i better not try for another goin 30-40
