Squeaky accessories
I had a pulley squeak yesterday and I ran it quick with either and then no belts. Running squeak went away with no alternator belt, but it would still squeak when I turned it off. The only pulley that would squeak by had was the alternator sometimes. And I swapped an old Gatorback for the Gates I was using on the SC path so the turning off squeak went away. The squeak in the alternator seemed to come from the back side. Is it ok to give it a quick shot of WD40 or something like that on the back side?

It likely wouldn't hurt to give it a try. I don't know if you'll be able to get a good enough shot at it to get it into the rear bearings or not. They have been known to be an issue on the alternators.

Well I never squirted it because I misplaced my WD40. But the squeak is gone. I guess it was all related to the Gates SC belt. The old Gatorback runs quiet.
