Default Security System not working

I've heard about checking door and trunk sensors. Anything else that obvious that I should check?

First of all....try this:

Roll down your driver'* window (weather permitting).
Lock the car with the key or the fob.
Wait....I don't remember how long. Try 5 minutes. Now reach in through the window, unlock the door MANUALLY (not power), and open the door.

Right now, do you have a security light on the dash? If you do, when is it on?

The security light comes on when I lock it with door switch or keyless entry and goes off after 1 minute.

I just checked mine and it works very well. Horn honked and lights flashed.

It'* a very discreet passive system. I was very surprised the first time I accidentally set it off. It'll even go off if someone tampers with your trunk lock cylinder. If they slide-hammer it, the alarm will sound. Neat effective stock security system. And it works very well with VATS.

Hard to steal these cars, but they can still break in.
