Default 98 SE Oil leaking BAD

So the other day I went over a huge speed bump, and bottomed out. I got out to check my car, and I see oil leaking. Now, I don't believe this speed bump is the cause of this leak, since there is no way I see possible to cause it. It is also hard to find this leak since my car leaks just like every other S2. But this one is dripping at least every 10 seconds when idling. I got under the car while it was running, and it is defiantly not the oil filter or anything. I'll let the pictures do some talking since I dont know what Im talking about -

General pic, you can see all the oil from driving home Oil drips from the area circled

Upon further inspection, this is dripping

And found that this sensor?? may be the cause of the leak since it is dripping on everything

Close-up

So, anyone else have problems with leaking oil? For all I know something else could just be leaking on top of that sensor thing

Also, yes my oil pan leaks somewhat. Doesn't look like that is causing this though

what you circled is the axle, that goes into the transmission. That will not leak anything but red transmission fluid.

I bet its your power steering leaking.

You need to clean that all up so you can actually tell where its coming from.

That upright black cylinder is your Oil Pressure sending unit (to gauge) and a very likely source of the leak if it is motor oil that you are leaking.

Ok, went out and check all the other fluids. None are low, oil is a little low. Fluid that is leaking is oil, I am 100% sure, smells and feels like oil.

I'm cleaning it now, after that I will start it and see where it is leaking. I am pretty sure it is the oil pressure sending unit like said above though...

Oil Pressure Sending Unit. 100% positive

I cleaned everything up, and placed a piece of paper towel on top of the unit to see if anything was dripping on top of it. Oil pressure unit leaked, nothing leaked on top of it.

What it the procedure for replacement? Unplug and unscrew the sending unit and replace? And do I have to drain the oil?

Id like some info on how to replace that sending unit as well.

My car has a similar leak from the sensor, but I go through a quart in about 1500 miles.

My car is oily underneath too; didnt know where it was coming from!!

Easiest to go in through the RF wheel opening. No need to drain the oil, but put a pan under the sender to catch a few drips. Remove the inner plastic fender and it is right in front of you. Unplug the electrical connector and slip on your oil pressure sender socket...don't have one?....use an adjustable wrench or vise grips or channel locks on the metal base of the sender. Unscrew the old one. Put a little band of thread sealant on the new sender'* male threads leaving the first two or three threads that go in the hole clean. Screw in the new sender and snug it up. Don't get too physical; these things break pretty easily. Plug it in. Start it up and check for leaks and gauge function before you take it off the jackstand in case it needs another 1/2 turn.

Bear in mind there are two OEM senders for the 92-99 years; one for if you have an oil pressure gauge on your instrument cluster, another for if you just have the idiot light. Make sure you got the right one.
