Grease Fittings
I've located the zerk fittings, but I was wondering how much to pump the joints full of grease. Keep pumping the grease gun until clean stuff comes out, or what? Thanks guys.

I thought it was until the rubber boots felt firm. Anything more and they might burst. but someone who actually knows what they are talking about will chime in here.

I'm curious because all the joints seem to have old grease on the outside that'* covered in dirt. I can't imagine EVERY single one has failed if that were the case...

Old grease on the outside is normal as far as I know. You will know if the rubber has cracked, because the boot will be hard (not firm, the rubber will feel old and cracked).

Firm is good. Spewing grease is too much and at that point being a booted area (assumption on the booted joint) you could potentially blow out a boot.
