Default INTERIOR WATER LEAKS!

I'm getting rain water into my interior passenger area, (predominantly) on the "right side rear floo"r and I have a 92 SSEi, I just read a previous reply about a simalar problem, but although I have a Sunroof, because of the areas that are dry and where the water is specific too, I'm sure its not via the sunroof. I'm missing some "Molding" along that outer edge or rim of the roof line above the door, would it be practical to just get the "MOLDING" and the "DOOR SILLS" redone altogehter??

I'm not sure if I'm clear as to what you are saying.... I had rear floor behind the driver seat get soaked. First thing to check is the rubber around the door openings (front and back doors). They shrink and pull away, water gets in the channel and will drop down your B column or anyway in it can find where the gasket is loose or seperated. You can either replace the rubber or use RTV to glue it securely back in position.

I RTV'd the rubber back, and also put some in the chrome piece channel at the roof. It looked like it had pulled a fraction of an inch away. It worked, I was lucky.

There are many other possibilities. There is a post to end all posts on water leaks here somewhere in this 92-99 section.

So I assume after it rains your headliner is not wet in that back corner? I had water in the same area and it was my sunroof that was the problem. The water drips down along the c-pillar, goes under the back seat and on the floor. It wouldn't hurt to check the sunroof drain hoses if you haven't done so yet.

As stated, it could be the door weatherstripping, or the plastic channels too. But when I fixed my leak, I resealed everything that it could have possibly been, even if I thought it wasn't the cause.

Note: please put 92 ssei in your signature just so you don't have to remind us when you have a problem in the future Go to profile at the top of the page, then edit your signature.

That'* the thread. It began as a fix and turned into a mission. Pure tenacity.

Grab an adult beverage of choice and sit down and read almost all there is to know about water leaks.

I spent over 40 hours tearing my car apart and it ended up being that the drain in the drivers side wheel well (where everthing drains to) was full of mud. It would then back up and spill down the passenger side HVAC floor vent. Just pull off the wheel and inner wheel well and you should find the problem.
I hope this helps.

I took my inner wheel well covers off and found they were full of mud also. Cleaned them out, thought I had the problem fixed and then voila! next rain, flooded floorboards again. I cannot access the thread with all there is to know about water leaks, but I would sure like to. I need to find this problem and soon as it is now rainy season here in SE Michigan. Thanks for any help that can be provided.
