Default A few questions on a 92 SE.

Hello,
I've been without a Bonneville since my 95 got totaled in a an accident 3 months ago... I've found a 92 SS for cheap money and I'm planning on buying it. But, I have a couple of questions....

First, 92 was the first year for this body style. Is there anything "quirky" about the 92'* I should be looking for? Any weak points to be aware of?

The other thing is, the car is in really good shape for a car with 118k on it. The only issue I see is it appears that there was a leak that got the headliner wet. Someone put a fair amount of silicone arount the drip edge molding above the driver side, passanger'* side and under the top of the windshield molding. Anyone seen this?

Thanks

From what i've read, some of the early 92s didn't have an EGR valve, and that sometimes leads to burned valves.

As for the leak, it is very common for the door seals to shrink and pull away from the corners of the door and cause leaks. Unfortunately, OEM replacement door seals are pretty expensive, i think i payed around $50 US for a rear one. But I don't know if a leaking door seal would make the headliner wet :?

Huh... That'* interesting. The headliner is showing signs of water damage all the way around the windows and windshield, but not the rear window. It'* not major damage but it got wet at one point. As for the EGR valve, where can I look to find in? Is it in the valve cover?
