I had a coil go bad on me, but only when hot. By the time I measured it, things were cooler, and would read normal. Wasn't until I went to the MSD'* that my problem was solved. Very frustrating. I knew I had a 2-cylinder miss, so it had to be a coil. Plugs told me which one

Fudd, sounds like your CAT to me, when mine was rattling around it was shuddering like you said. Also i had a coil pack start going, it gradually shudderd until it was a compleat mis fire. Could it be the compleat ICM its self? Possibly from the water?

I haven't checked the cat yet, I will kick it this weekend. However, I was experiencing a miss at low idle, too, before I changed the wires and plugs, so I am not suspecting the cat.
I should have time to work on everything this weekend.

Problem Solved!
I tried putting back in the ignition coil that I purchased in December to replace the stock coil, and guess what? Missfire after TCC lockup and OD. I pulled over and put the spare old coil back on and the misfire went away. So I have it narrowed down to a bad coil. We'll see if the auto supply store will exchange it.
I did catch the bad coil sparking from the mounting screw to somewhere on the plastic part of the coil for a few seconds - the plastic must have a problem with the insulation.
FYI I also took the ICM off and cleaned the underside of it and the mounting plate. It was a little dirty under there. I used a wire brush and then rubbing alcohol.
