Since you need extra fluid, fill it up to the highest part on the "FULL" of the dipstick. That way you aren't going to starve anything.. or at least as bad as you could possibly.

Also, you know how you fill up your oil filter with oil before putting it back on the car? Well, fill up the tranny cooler with ATF, before putting it in the car [this could be difficult, depending on how you have your'* mounted]. This will help a lot with any dry start issues. If you can manage it, try pouring some down the lines to it, also.. but that may be overkill.

i dont typicly, fil my oil filter up with oil before spinning it back on.....is that a good idea, I do hear the lifters for a few seconds wene i start it up after an oil change before the pressure gets up there......do you do that justin.....I may try that next time.......

good idea about filling it up what I may do is conect the flexible lines up first then ill leave it hang in frount of the condeser, then disconect the upper on and filler up with as much fluid i can get in there........are air bubles a prob in our transaxles, or will the bubbles work themselves out gradually with out much problem??? thanks for the suggestions and awnsers guys!

Not to doubt you Justin, but I don't beleve that a few seconds of air in the lines, which are quickly being purged by the pump pushing fluid, will cause ANY damage. Heck, I still haven't fixed my tranny leak and going around corners when my fluid is low, my transmission slips because it'* lost fluid pressure....and I've been driving it like this since I did my TCC solenoid about 10K miles ago. No problem as long as I keep the fluid topped off (and figure out when I want to do that $#%^ side cover again).

NO. you only fill up to the 'full' mark while the transmission is HOT and RUNNING. too much fluid can damage your trans just as quickly as too little fluid. be smart - there'* a reason they give you a procedure to follow.

and pre-oiling your filter isn't necessary at all. with the kind of pressure being exerted on the fluid, it'* not going to make any perceptable different to your engine whether or not you pre-oil it.
