Security Light
Security light doesn't seem to come on any more...as a matter of fact, it doesn;t come on at all !!! When you open the door, no light , when you start the car, no light. Whats up? Perhaps the bulb is burnt out? The VATS system was changed last winter...

Kerker, try this:
Open your trunk, and remove the trunk lid unsulator (carpet). Find the 2-wire connector about midway back (accessed through a little hole). This is the connector coming from the tamper-detector cable to your lock tumbler.
Short the two wires together with a wire or paperclip.
Start the car. Do you get a security light?

Thanks for reply and I will try the paper clip trick. I know in th e past, when ever, but not always , I opened and closed trunk lid, the security light would come on after engine start up and stay on sometimes for 3-4mins. Perhaps it is a lose wire to trunk lock like u mentioned in previous posts...

Kerker, I'm just asking you to check the basic functionality of the system. That'* the easiest way I know of. I don't think you have the same problem I had, as my security light was on all the time.
Just trying to get your 'missing' light to re-appear.

Hmmm. The lamp could be burned out. Try to activate the alarm. Turn the car off, lock the doors using the keyless entry, wait a few minutes, then unlock and open the door from the inside using the power lock button on the door. Does it alarm?
