Today I took a leap of faith (on your advice) and replaced my MAF Sensor and cleaned the intakes. I tried to get a NEW AC Delco, but the cheapest I found was about $400. So, I found a remanufactured AC Delco at Advanced Auto (with a lifetime warranty) for $157.00. As it turned-out, it was incredibly simple to do the switch (easier than changing spark plugs) and the car runs sOOOOO much better.
As for the MAF screen, I decided to leave it in because it runs good enough for my purposes. However, when I get around to getting a smooth, duct-type intake 'hose', I will probably rip that sucker out and see how it goes.
Thanks again to all of you--- as a direct result of your assistance, I saved $100-$300 and the vehicle runs great!!! On top of that, it always feels better when I do the work myself (and I scored big points with the wife...). Take Care, the Reverand
