Default code 102 and traction off

I've finally purchased a code scanner. It comes up with code 102 and the traction off light comes on.
The symptoms are extremely rough idle (especially on warm start up) and sometimes stalling. The RPMs will then go up to 3500 before leveling out. The traction off light goes on and off infrequently while driving. I sometimes feel a slight stumble when it comes on.

I've been advised to check the fuel pressure regulator, but have not had the chance.

I'm wondering if the traction off light and the rough idle are related?

Any experts have any advice?

I did check the vacuum line for the fuel regulator. I was told to check for gas leaking past the diaphram. No gas was in the vacuum line.

What type of code is this? Is it a "P" code?

Yes, it'* P0102. The book says low mass air flow volume.

I need to see the service manual specifically for your car.

You may really have low air flow volume, or you may have a sensor that is telling you that you have low air flow volume. The air goes through the throttle body, and the sensor is located there.

This could be caused by a restriction somewhere in the system, such as a dirty air fliter or a plugged screen. It could also be caused by a dirty throttle body or a dirty/bad idle air control valve. It could also be caused by a bad mass airflow sensor.

That'* why I need to know exactly what triggers that code.

Thanks for the reply. I changed the filter and cleaned the throttle body. All I can say about the sensor is that it looks ok.
After playing around with it today I noticed something strange. The traction off light being on seems directly related to the P0102 code and rough idle. As soon as the traction off light goes out, I am abe to clear the code. When the light comes back on, I am unable to clear the code.

Any thoughts????
